General Server Requirements

Here is some guideline about hardware and software requirements and recommendations for a new dRofus server

• 2 CPU cores
• 4GB RAM
• 100G fast disk/partition (RAID-0) in addition to the OS disk/partition

• We recommend using the latest version Debian Linux OS.
• SSH: We need to be able to access the server with SSH.
• We will then (through SSH) install the following software from debian pagackes:
  • Postgresql 8.4 >
  • Tomcat 5.5 >
  • Ruby, Rails 2.3 >
  • Apache 2
  • Axis2

• TCP 5432 (postgresql) (from all)
• TCP 8180 (reports) (from all)
• TCP 22 (SSH) (from Nosyko: 77.40.227.32/27)
• TCP 443 (HTTPS) (from all or everyone that should access the web based administration system)

• HTTP, FTP for downloading software
• NTP to a valid NTP server
• SMTP to all or a valid SMTP server
• SSH to db2.nosyko.no for backup
