This page contains information on how to install and use the Revit Plug-in for dRofus to Revit Architecture 2009, 2010 or 2011.
Feel free to report any issues and enhancements to developers@nosyko.no
With the latest version of dRofus, Revit 2010 and 2009 is no longer supported. To use one of this versions you have to download version 0.9.2 of dRofus as described
See a video demonstration of usage.
The Plug-in is distributed with dRofus version 0.9.2 (NOT 1.0.0 and up). Please download the installation packages for 0.9.2 if you don't have it installed already http://www.drofus.no/downloads/archive/drofus-setup-0.9.2.exe. To enable opening RDS in dRofus from Revit, you must make sure you check the “Install third party components etc” during install:
To install the plug-in into Revit (assuming Revit Architecture 2009 is already installed) do the following:
* Select the new Add-In Manager for Revit 2009 menu item.
Go to the Loaded Applications tab and press “Load”
Browse to your dRofus installation directory (e.g. c:\Program Files\drofus) and select the file drofusRevitLink.dll. Press Open. If you are upgrading, remove the old DLL with the Unload button first.
Press Save and then Cancel to close the Add-In Manager.
Close Revit and start it again.
When you now open a project, you should have a new top menu named “dRofus” in Revit.

The Plug-in is distributed with dRofus version 1.0.0 and above and is registered with Revit 2011 the first time you log in to dRofus. If you have an older version installed, please download the latest installation packages from the download page and install it.
After installation of dRofus, close any open Revit applications and log in to dRofus. The Plug-in is automatically installed and available the next time you start Revit.
Currently there are one function in the dRofus menu/ribbon.
This function will keep the Revit Room Schedule updated with the space program from drofus. This will let you pick a programmed room from a list when you create rooms in Revit.
To start the synchronization, choose Synchronize Room Schedule from the drofus menu/ribbon in Revit. The first time you use it, you will be asked to log in to a drofus database. Enter your login information and press OK.
The following dialog will appear:
Project Select the project you want to synchronize with (in case there is more than one project in the database)
Room filter Lets you synchronize with a portion of the rooms in the project (dRofus). If the project is large you probably do not want to all rooms in one Revit file. Select the attribute you want to do a filter based on and enter a condition. If you for instance want all rooms in function 01 you will select room function no and write '01.*' to get all rooms with at room function number that start with '01.'
Add new rooms to schedule will add all rooms from drofus (based on the filter above) that does not occur in the schedule. The existence of a room is based on the room function number.
Remove unknown rooms from schedule will remove all rooms in the schedule that is not found in drofus (again based on the room filter you selected and the room function number). All unplaced rooms will be removed without warning, but you will be asked to confirm all placed rooms.
Update drofus with design information will update drofus with information from the Revit room schedule. Currently this will update:
Designed Area (from Room Area),
Perimeter (Circumference)
Height (from Unbound Height if volume calculations is not enabled. If enabled it is calculated from Volume/Area).
Geographical room number.
During the synchronization all room in the schedule that has a match in dRofus (based on room function number) is updated with the latest information from drofus. This include:
Length measurements conversions from feet to meter was miscalculated.
The treatment height transfered to drofus is using unbound height. If a covering is limeting the room height, unbound height is still the same. If you turn on Volume Calculations (Home→Room&Area dropdown→Area and Volume Computations) the room height is computed from Volume divided by Area instead, giving more correct result for treatment height.
Fixed several issues that caused the plugin to abort without a good error message, e.g. when running the plugin on something else than a level
Added No to all / Yes to all choices when asking to remove placed rooms.
Added a Cancel button to the synchronization window.
Added better help text to the synchronization options and a new disabled option that explains what operations are done when synchronizing.
Added synchronization of room grouping/zone information from drofus.
Support for Revit AC 2010
Added filter support for all project specific room core attributes, geographical room number in addition to room function number.
Project specific room core attributes is added to the schedule - no back synchronization yet though.
Better handling of the shared parameter file. A new file is not created if there is already one in use and the file is created under the user appllication data if the plugin need to create one.
