Usage

Currently there are one function in the dRofus menu/ribbon.

  • Synchronize room schedule synchronizes the Revit room schedule with a project in dRofus

Synchronize room schedule

This function will keep the Revit Room Schedule updated with the space program from drofus. This will let you pick a programmed room from a list when you create rooms in Revit.

To start the synchronization, choose Synchronize Room Schedule from the drofus menu/ribbon in Revit. The first time you use it, you will be asked to log in to a drofus database. Enter your login information and press OK.

The following dialog will appear:

  • Project Select the project you want to synchronize with (in case there is more than one project in the database)
  • Room filter Lets you synchronize with a portion of the rooms in the project (dRofus). If the project is large you probably do not want to all rooms in one Revit file. Select the attribute you want to do a filter based on and enter a condition. If you for instance want all rooms in function 01 you will select room function no and write '01.*' to get all rooms with at room function number that start with '01.'
  • Add new rooms to schedule will add all rooms from drofus (based on the filter above) that does not occur in the schedule. The existence of a room is based on the room function number.
  • Remove unknown rooms from schedule will remove all rooms in the schedule that is not found in drofus (again based on the room filter you selected and the room function number). All unplaced rooms will be removed without warning, but you will be asked to confirm all placed rooms.
  • Update drofus with design information will update drofus with information from the Revit room schedule. Currently this will update:
    • Designed Area (from Room Area),
    • Perimeter (Circumference)
    • Height (from Unbound Height if volume calculations is not enabled. If enabled it is calculated from Volume/Area).
    • Geographical room number.

During the synchronization all room in the schedule that has a match in dRofus (based on room function number) is updated with the latest information from drofus. This include:

  • Name (the abbreviated drawing name will be used instead of the full name if it exists)
  • Comment (note)
  • Program area
  • Department
  • Project defined attributes.
  • Groups/Zones

  • Length measurements conversions from feet to meter was miscalculated.
  • The treatment height transfered to drofus is using unbound height. If a covering is limeting the room height, unbound height is still the same. If you turn on Volume Calculations (Home→Room&Area dropdown→Area and Volume Computations) the room height is computed from Volume divided by Area instead, giving more correct result for treatment height.
